Hiking trail was right off our site (74) but wasn't busy and added more private space. We hiked it, took about 20-30 minutes with a 5 yr old and had a few downed trees at the time and some rock scramble areas but nothing bad.
We camped here for 2 nights in a tent. Reservations were easy and pleasant. The tent sites vary greatly in size and shape, which turned out to be an issue because we could not actually park our SUV at our tent site and have a campfire. The pad fit our large 8 person tent fine, but the shared area for parking/picnic table/fire ring was quite small. A couple other tent sites could fit multiple cars, so consider asking very specific questions when you call, especially if you drive an SUV. Bathrooms clean, trash pick up is great, staff very friendly.
We were thankful for the late checkout of 2pm and enjoyed the campground play areas and amenities even after we packed up right till 2pm.
One of the nicest campgrounds I've been to. Great store and friendly staff. Clean bathrooms with showers. They even have pancakes available for breakfast in the morning! Great place for camping while exploring Gettysburg.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay and thank the RVFTA Campground of the week podcast for the recommendation.
Staff is awesome. They will take time on the phone with you. We had to cancel a 10 day stay this year due to circumstances beyond our control and we were treated fairly. Something you don’t find anymore today!
Added some photos of the water/electric sites around us. The play areas and the wood.
Had a great time this weekend. Campground was nearly to capacity, but as mentioned by another reviewer, did not feel cramped at all. Beautiful sites, we had #42 and loved the separation between sites. The campground is situated on a very rocky hill, and the stones are used to separate the sites. Beautiful, lush, "non-commercialized-feeling" setting. Amenities such as a very nice pool, brand new playground, and pancake breakfast on Sunday morning were very appreciated. Took the nature walk, which turned out as more of a rock scramble, but our two year old made it through. Would certainly come back again!
Nice place. Plenty of shade and nice sites. Staff was friendly. Bathrooms were clean and not too busy while we were there even with nearly full campground. The pancake breakfast was nice for the price, saved cooking for ourselves. Play area was very nice and new/clean. Wood was nice Kiln dried in a bag and burned easy...kind of expensive at 20.00 for 3 packs which they said would burn about 1-2 hours per pack.
